As we flow through the summer of 2021, there is a constant feeling of uncertainty about how our service to society includes the highly valued connections between people that were enjoyed by Rotary Rotarians in earlier times. While the "hands looking out into space" idea is definitely a an integral part of our routine There's no doubt the trust in Rotary is growing, and more people are forming acquaintances in person. Rotary's changed. It is still unclear how our work with humanity is going to incorporate the highly appreciated human connection that Rotary members enjoyed in the earlier times. Although the phrase "hands-in-space" will always be a part of our everyday routine but it's clear that the confidence of our members is increasing as are the more direct relationships. Rotary is changing too. Rotary is a network which fosters lasting friendships. In addition to our meetings that are online for business meetings but we have reintroduced social interaction and service using a safe face-to-face format. These new possibilities have been paired with our lessons from our previous pandemics to provide a brand new outlook for Rotary. Based on an Rotary survey 75% of members are planning their business-as-usual activities. Listen to this story 1. Amanda Watkin's General Secretary Column in Rotary Magazine. A recent Rotary survey found that around 75% clubs plan to keep their "business like normal" projects and activities that have previously helped communities across Great Britain and Ireland. While I'm extremely proud of the fact that the Rotary Centre is continuing to help the many community projects which benefit participants of Rotary and ensure their safety as well, compliance and insurance is essential. It is amazing that our Rotarians are able to come up with innovative and imaginative solutions to some of the most difficult problems. This is the reason I was thrilled to get the chance to be a part of Rotary in 2002. Rotary provided me, and many others an extensive network of like-minded, trustworthy people from which I've developed genuine friendships in the last 20 years. So now let's all share Rotary and ask our family friends and colleagues to join us as participants in the most incredible global network where you really will make a positive impact.
